Transport Malta Clarifies Ongoing PSV Garaging Compliance Efforts

Transport Malta categorically rejects claims that it is allowing Public Service Vehicle (PSV) operators to continue operations without proper garaging facilities.

Contrary to recent reports, the Authority has taken firm action against non-compliant operators, including site inspections, 104 suspension notices, out of which 25 operators were informed yesterday and the immediate notification to the respective booking platforms to halt services from operators failing to meet legal requirements.

Since January 2025, Transport Malta has intensified its enforcement through independent inspections and strict documentation requirements, including valid PA permits and scaled site plans.

Those operators that are unable to prove compliance are being suspended, and further enforcement measures are scheduled for the upcoming weeks. The Authority remains fully committed to upholding national regulations and ensuring safety and accountability across the sector.
