Coronavirus: Preventive measures during driving lessons

Press Release 20 MARCH 2020:

Following discussions with the Health Authorities and the Driving Schools Association, Transport Malta agreed to allow driving lessons to continue but will be introducing a number of measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

Thus, in agreement with the driving instructors:

  • Instructors must not have more than one student in the vehicle
  • The vehicle’s seat must be covered in leather or Rexine, to contain any droplets on the surface.
  • The instructors must disinfect the seat, the steering wheel and the dashboard after every student completes the lesson.
  • The vehicle windows must, at least, be partially opened to ensure adequate ventilation.

Until further notice, Transport Malta is also extending the suspension of practice and theory tests.
