Launch of Incentives for Bicycles and Bicycle-related facilities by Transport Malta

Transport Malta, in collaboration with the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure, and Public Works, announces the launch of a new financial incentive for the purchase of bicycles, conversion of bicycles to pedelecs, and installation of bicycle racks, bicycle repair stations and related facilities, in addition to the grant schemes launched earlier in the year.

This incentive serves to encourage the modal shift from cars to bicycles and active mobility, in line with the government’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

This new grant consists of the following sub-schemes:

Applications from business undertakings and from Voluntary Organisations with an economic activity shall be subject to the de minimis State Aid Regulations and applicable thresholds.

Applications for these grants are now open to all eligible applicants and can be obtained from Transport Malta offices or online through www.transport.gov.mt, in the Land Transport section.
