Coronavirus: Measures on board commercial vessels

In terms of the COVID-19 transitioning Standards for Transport Service Providers and for passengers using Transport Service for Commercial Passengers Vessels issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Health, Operators of Commercial Vessels are kindly being reminded that the maximum number of passengers to be carried shall be 50% of the certified capacity of the vessel and shall not, in any case, exceed 1 person per 4 square metres of space available for passengers.

All licensed commercial passenger vessels and operators are bound to observe the mentioned transitioning standards and are to ensure that the maximum number of passengers allowable on board according to the permissible space as applicable is clearly declared, exhibited, and displayed on board.

The Master of the Vessel is responsible to maintain the good order and application of COVID-19 measures both on board as well as during dis/embarking operations.
