Transport Malta has launched a scheme enabling vehicle owners to regularise their position in respect of licence arrears in accordance with Legal Notice 22 of 2012 and Legal Notice 85 of 2013, to benefit from a reduction in licence fees and administrative fines due.
If you have either scrapped or intend to scrap your vehicle, or you have garaged your vehicle, or you were unable to renew your vehicle licence, you are eligible to benefit from this scheme to avoid further penalties. Payment of contraventions may be suspended when a person decides to scrap a vehicle under the regularisation scheme.
To benefit from this scheme, you have the following options available:
In Option A , any CVA fees and Malta Tourism Authority fees, will need to be paid in full. The administrative penalty of 2 per day, or 10 per month imposed by Transport Malta will be waived.
In Option B and C, any CVA fees, Malta Tourism Authority fees, contraventions and fines, will need to be paid in full. The administrative penalty of 2 per day, or 10 per month imposed by Transport Malta will be waived.
