Horse Drawn Cabs (Karozzini)

The traditional karrozzin is one of the oldest forms of public transport in Malta, dating back to the mid-nineteenth century. It consists of a carriage pulled by a horse and is nowadays a popular tourist attraction.

Horse drawn cabs, or ‘karrozzini’, operate along a number of routes in the following localities:

  • Outside Valletta;
  • Tas-Sliema/St. Julians;
  • Rabat/Mdina;
  • Buġibba/Qawra.

Customers can make use of this service by hiring a horse cab from one of the various cab stands situated along these routes. This service is ideal for customers willing to visit these locations in a quiet and leisurely manner, whilst enjoying the beautiful views that these routes can offer.

The driver operating the service shall need to be in possession of a Driver Permit Tag. For more information please click here
