European Mobility Week 2020 Competitions

4 AUGUST 2020:

Following the success of previous European mobility Week editions, Transport Malta, in conjunction with the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects is once again launching the Annual Competitions as part of the EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2020. Transport Malta is organising two competitions one for the implementation of Permanent Sustainability Mobility Measures and another for the organisation of small events and activities during the European Mobility Week, which shall be held between the 16th and the 22nd September 2020.

Every year, the European Commission selects a theme to follow during the European Mobility Week. The theme for 2020 is Zero-emission mobility for all. Transport Malta is thus inviting all Local Councils from Malta and Gozo to submit their proposals to implement sustainable mobility measures or to organise European Mobility Week events and activities, following the Zero-emission mobility for all theme.

Permanent Sustainable Mobility Measures Competition

All Local Councils are eligible to participate in the Permanent Sustainable Mobility Measures Competition and Local Councils are encouraged to submit a proposal to implement a permanent measure or service. The following regulations shall apply:

  • Competition Winners are required to monitor measures during implementation and collect data to assess the measure’s success.
  • Correct logos are to feature on all promotional material.

To facilitate the process of evaluation, shortlisted applications will be asked to present their application to the EMW Adjudication Committee;
