Licence Renewals

 Drone Pilot licences are valid for 5 years.

Pilots must obtain the renewal of their license, by passing the respective renewal examination, before their current licence expires, otherwise, they will be required to sit for the initial examination(s) again. The pass mark is of 75%.

For renewal of licences, holders of:

A1/A3 licence may simply apply for the A1/A3 renewal examination. This renewal examination comprises of 20 multiple-choice questions and lasts 30 minutes.

A2 licence wishing to renew their A2 licence may apply for the A2 renewal examination, which automatically also renews the A1/A3. This renewal examination comprises of 35 multiple-choice questions covering both A1/A3 and A2 and lasts 60 minutes.

STS licence wishing to renew their STS licence may apply for the STS renewal examination, which automatically also renews both the A1/A3 & A2. This examination comprises of 52 multiple-choice questions covering A1/A3, A2, and STS and lasts 60 minutes.

Booking for any of the above exams may be completed from TM CAD iDronect Portal. All examinations are held at TM-CAD offices in Triq Pantar, Lija, and cost 10Eur.
