Public Consultation on the Proposal for Triq G.B.Olivier to become a one-way street.
In 2011, the Mellieha Local Council proposed to have Triq Borg Olivier as one-way downwards from j/w Triq San Publiju to j/w Triq Snajjin for a trial period of four months. Transport Malta had assessed this proposal and reported the results.
Traffic surveys were conducted during the summer and winter seasons to assess traffic flow. Traffic counts were also conducted for passenger cars, heavy vehicles, coaches and route buses. Alternative routes availabe for traffic were suggested and road safety principles were considered in relation to these suggested routes.
A public consultation was launched to give the public a chance to communicate its views, suggestions and complaints. The information gathered was reviewed and assessed by Transport Malta. After receiving feedback from the public, from Arriva Malta Ltd., Transport Malta communicated its conclusions and suggestions on the proposal. The report of the findings drawn up by Transport Malta is available here (pdf, 2011, 4.5Mb)
