Applications are recieved for:

(1) Request for Disabled Person's Parking Space / Reserved Parking / Keep Clear Bay

Steps to apply for a Disabled Person's Parking Space:

Fill in the application form, which is availabe here (pdf, 86kb), or from your Local Council, and attach the following required information:

• For Reserved Parking:

  • Copy of ID Card of the applicant

  • Copy of ID Card of the person driving, in case that the applicant is not the driver. (The car must be registered at the same address as that of the applicant)

  • Copy of the Blue Card

  • Copy of the special ID Card

  • Copy of the Log Book

• For Keep Clear Bay

  • Copy of ID Card of the applicant

  • Copy of the Blue Card

  • Copy of the special ID Card

Process

Transport Malta will notify the Local Council responsible for the area that the request falls within and require their comments within 30 days. The application will also be reviewed by a doctor.  A report issued by the doctor and any feedback from the Local Council will be considered by the "Board for Reserved Spaces for Disabled". The applicant and the Local Council will be notified with the decision taken. If granted, the Roads and Infrastructure Directorate at Transport Malta, will implement the requested action.

(2) Application for the Placing of Banner, Poster or Sign

Applications for the placing of banners, posters and signs will be assessed on a case by case basis and decisions address specific road safety issues. Please fill in the application form available here (doc, 34kb).

(3) Acquiring clearance for a Development Planning Application from Transport Malta

To obtain clearance for a Development Planning Application, please send a covering letter to the address below, quoting MEPA's TN reference, explaining your proposal and including the following details:
 

• Site plan

• Scaled plans of what currently exists on site

• Scaled plans of your proposal

• If plans include major accesses or changes to the highway then plans are to submitted on a surveyed base plan giving details of the related stretch of highway

• If proposal is a change of use – then a schedule of changes in floor area, number of parking spaces, etc., is required
