Transport Malta notifies that with immediate effect and until 31st December 2015, the Certificates issued by the MCAST Maritime Institute in 2015 are considered as equivalent to the official Nautical Licence issued by Transport Malta. A copy of this Certificate should always be carried on board in lieu of such Nautical Licence. Certificates issued prior to 2015 are not considered as equivalent to the official Nautical Licence and application for the Nautical Licence must be immediately done.
Transport Malta is offering a secure and easy way for boat owners to renew their Small Ship Registration online without having to go to the Small Ships register Office in Marsa.
Boat owners opting to renew their registration online need to be in possession of an e-ID account. A copy of valid insurance certificate may be required if applicable.

The e-ID may be obtained from e-ID Offices, Evans Building, Triq il-Mediterran, Valletta. Citizens need to present a valid Maltese Identity Card at the e-ID Office. Once the e-ID is obtained, users can then log on to the system using their e-ID Account.
