Driving a Motor Vehicle in Malta
The Registration and Licensing of all Motor Vehicles in Malta is regulated by the Motor Vehicles Registration and Licensing Act (Cap. 368) and the Registration and Licensing of Motor vehicles, Subsidiary legislation 368.02.
In accordance with these regulations no person shall have in his possession or drive a motor vehicle which has not been registered and licensed with the Authority.

Controlled Vehicular Access
The Controlled Vehicular Access (CVA)system in Valletta is a holistic strategy aimed at reducing private vehicular traffic in Valletta.
The CVA system makes use of dedicated cameras that are installed in various points in Valletta around the charging zones and which photographs vehicles entering and exiting the CVA boundary.
The CVA system then makes use of various technologies to identify the vehicle, calculates the time the vehicle remained inside the Valletta charging zones and finally computes the fee due for access and parking based on the tariffs regulated by TransportMalta (TM).
DRIVING IN MALTA
There are various parking sites in Malta and Gozo managed by licensed car park attendants. These car park attendants wear a tag given by the authority and may legally retain any gratuity.
